Image Club's popular catalog is distributed to over 8
million readers annually! | Image Club Graphics,
Inc.
In 1985, I started a little company called Image Club Graphics with a start-up
capital infusion of a drafting table and some 'borrowed' office supplies
from the only real job I ever had. I was fired from that job - they actually
accused me of taking office supplies! Imagine that! I had leased one of
the first 300 dpi laser printers ever sold in Western canada. The printers
were new technology, and I was utilising it as a typesetter for my struggling
graphic arts company.
The new technology looked so promising, that I made a prediction that this
thing was going to revolutionise the publishing industry. In response to
a great void in decent software for the new industry, I began creating desktop
publishing content software and marketing it via direct mail and advertising.
I never looked back.
Today (well, as of about 1995) Image Club distributes over 12 million software
catalogs to it's customers world wide. With sales topping $20 projected
for 1996, Image Club is very well known and respected in the industry as
a successful direct marker and software developer. Image Club made the Profit
magazine's Profit 100 list twice, and recently
won the "most profitable" category. Image Club has nerve had an
unprofitable year since it's incorporation 11 years ago, and has funded
it's growth from profits and never debt.
In 1994 I sold Image Club Graphics to Aldus Corporation Later that year
merged with Adobe Systems of Mountain View, California making Image Club
a part of the second largest software company in the world.
